Weston Brain Institute, Canada: Rapid Response 2017, Parkinson’s disease (PD)-related diseases

The objective of the Canada: Rapid Response 2017, PD-related diseases program is to provide seed funding for novel, high-risk, high-reward translational research on neurodegenerative diseases of aging.

PD-related diseases include: Parkinson’s disease; Progressive supranuclear palsy; Dementia with Lewy bodies; Multiple system atrophy; Prodromes; Vascular contributions.

All projects must meet two conditions to be eligible:  1) projects must be translational research that helps accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging; 2) projects must develop a therapeutic and/or tool.

The Rapid Response program will have multiple calls per year, alternating between two different disease groups: PD-related diseases and Alzheimer disease (AD) -related diseases (to launch, May 2017).
