Common Challenges, Shared Solutions: 2018 McMaster Research Data Forum

Wednesday, December 12

Mills Memorial Library

McMaster faculty members, staff, and students are invited to attend the 2018 McMaster Research Data Forum--an event hosted by the McMaster Library, RHPCS, MacDATA Institute, and the Tier 3 Research Data Management IT Committee.

This event aims to facilitate a broad discussion around data management challenges faced by researchers, as well as potential implications of a pending Tri-Agency Research Data Management policy.

The agenda includes a morning keynote address by Jeff Moon, Director of the Portage Network, describing the evolving national landscape of research data management policy and infrastructure. The keynote will be followed by an interactive panel discussion, where McMaster researchers and service providers will discuss their research data challenges in the exploration of common solutions.

In the afternoon session, facilitators from Statistics Canada will provide a workshop on disclosure control methods using confidential microdata at Research Data Centres (RDCs).

A full description and agenda for the event can be found here. Registration is free; lunch will be provided to registrants.
