The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) is now accepting Notices of Intent to Apply (NOIs) for the 2017 Discovery Grants competition.

The Discovery Grants program aims to promote and maintain a diversified base of high-quality research capability in the natural sciences and engineering in Canadian universities; foster research excellence; and provide a stimulating environment for research training.

All researchers who intend to apply to the 2017 Discovery Grants competition must submit an NOI directly to NSERC via Research Portal by 8:00pm August 1, 2016Applicants who do not submit an NOI will not be eligible to submit an application in the Fall. Please note that August 1 is a civic holiday in Ontario, but is still the deadline for the NOI.  NSERC will not accept NOIs after the deadline.

Recent Changes to the Discovery Grants Program:

It is strongly recommended that you allow ample time to complete the NOI. We have been advised that completion of the NSERC CCV is very time consuming since all of the required information must be entered manually. It is not possible to cut and paste information from existing documents into the NSERC CCV.
