NSERC has announced the 2018 competition for Strategic Partnership Grants (SPG) for Projects.
http://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/Professors-Professeurs/RPP-PP/SPG-SPS_eng.asp

The following changes have been implemented for this year’s application process:
a)   inclusion of a mandatory F183A for each supporting organization in the LOI;
b)   the  LOI application process will require approval from the institution RGO prior to submission of the application to NSERC;

c)  the LOI must be submitted first to the McMaster Industry Liaison Office (MILO) through the NSERC system, and MILO will submit electronically to NSERC.

The internal LOI deadline for  MILO is January 19, 2018 and all applicants are asked to contact MILO as soon as possible. The NSERC LOI deadline is February 1, 2018.

Requirements for the LOI:

1)  Form 189.  The LOI is available on the NSERC system.  This is a 3 page free-form proposal that must address: a) Objectives and outcomes; b) Fit to target area; c) Originality of the research; d) Quality of the applicants; e) Training potential; f) Relevance and benefit  to your partner and potential interactions.

2)  F100 for the Lead Applicant only. Other co-investigators expertise is to be described in the 3 page LOI.  CVs should not be attached.

3)  F183A.  This is specific to the SPG LOI phase and will be available through the NSERC site the week of December 4, 2017.

4)  The letter of support from your partner(s).  Contact MILO for guidelines.

Commitments from partners are not required at the LOI stage, however, any details regarding the anticipated support to be provided will strengthen your LOI.
